You don’t so much hear them, you feel them. Top fuel hydro is even crazier, in a sense.

the noise was most surprising for me - yeah, sure, they will be loud I thought. The only thing that compares is a Space Shuttle launch. You gotta go to a race just for the noise.

I went to my first NHRA event last month. I was not prepared for the Top Fuelers. let me put it this way: as they pass by, your vision blurs, your teeth rattle, the grandstands are vibrating you through your spine. Oh, and if you set an empty beer can next to you, the vibration will knock it over.
